When Eli Whitney made the cotton gin. America's cotton sales went through the roof. This machine would clean as much as cotton 50 workers in one day with only one worker watching over the machine. With this machine created many jobs to operate the machine's and the asembly line. farm owners expanded there farms and output of cotton a year. slave numbers grew very fast, over 60 years slave numbers grew from 500,000 to 3 million over 12 million slaves where used in these 6o years. since the farms grew so did the harbors and shipping income. Since this economy has dictated many thing's even the social pyrmid.
first the wealthy farm owners or congress men, working middle class, pour cattle herders and farm workers, and the free slaves. The economy has been raising about one capita per year. the main inventions that boosted the economy even more. where the power driven conveyer belt desinged By Cyrus McCormick. The 6-8 round blow back revolver, And the asembly line manufacturing building in hartford. Along with these products the US needed a better way of trasportation. So manufactures went to work and mad more and improved the old canals, turn pikes. In the 1820's steam powered boats where traveling up river to carry goods. In 1840's rail roads tracks where starting to be laid and in 20 years the north had 20,000 miles of rail way tracks. Also in 1819 the Erie Canal was being built going to streach 364 miles and planed to take 6 years. this Canal trasnformed the economy by transporting goods through out the nations.
All these inventions and ideas created by these amazing people transformed this country from little farming towns to the number 1 producer of goods in the world. Every thing these people did either effected this economy today in a good or bad way but still today our economy holds strong because of all this old money. is like a giant tree's roots lay deep deep down.
